JOB SUMMARY: 

 

The role of the Rochester Campus Coordinator is to support the office of Arts & Event Services with day-to-day operations, event coordination, and staffing at the Rochester campus. The charge of this position also builds revenue and utilization of the campus. Additionally, this role performs routine inspections, support preventive maintenance, event setup support, and coordination with custodial services. The position requires regular physical activity.

 

Salary range: $19.50 - $20.50/hr.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with maintaining an electronic reservation system.
  • Performs administrative support as needed for the program.
  • Prepares paperwork such as invoices and contracts.
  • Provides event support.
  • Provides training and scheduling of support staff.
  • Provides oversight for building operations and outsourced events.
  • Perform routine inspections and coordination with service providers, including:
    • Building and Systems
    • Mechanical and Utility Systems
    • Monitoring Exterior and Grounds Maintenance
      • Life Safety Systems Monitoring
    • Event and Space Setup Support
      • Tenant and Client Support
        Respond in a timely manner to facility related service requests and operational issues from Mayo Clinic and other building occupants to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Manages utilization and external rentals of campus facilities.
  • Assures proper setup of the facility and classrooms for rental and course use.
  • Supervises hourly building staff.
  • Performs the role of primary staff person and public walk-in contact at Cascade Meadow Wetlands during open public hours.
  • Is the lead contact for the building, rentals, and leases (Mayo).
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Arts and Event Services.

 

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Event and customer service experience preferred. 
  • May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in office technology.

Physical Demands

  • Light work. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Even though the weight lifted may be very little, a job is in this category when it requires a good deal of walking or standing, or when it involves sitting most of the time with some pushing and pulling of arm or leg controls.  Additionally, to be considered capable of performing a full or wide range of light work, you must have the ability to do substantially all of the activities listed below.
    • Ability to walk the building and grounds for extended periods.
    • Ability to safely traverse uneven surfaces.
    • Ability to respond to emergencies promptly.
