Job Summary

 

The program coordinator provides any number of administrative services to program directors, faculty, and students in the Graduate School of Education. Working closely with program directors and Student Central staff, the program coordinator provides academic program assistance, administrative support, front-line customer service, and event coordination in support of a centralized student experience across all programs.

 

 

Salary Range: HOURLY $20-25


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to GSOE programs that includes calendar scheduling, recording meeting minutes, document management, filing, and other administrative duties.
  • Supports the requirements for program licensure, practica, and field experiences in those programs that require it.
  • Fields questions from students related to grade grievances or concerns with courses or instructors, working closely with program directors to resolve these issues in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a resource for students’ questions related to careers or industries associated with given programs.
  • Assist with program level communications, specifically external partners.
  • Assists with course schedule development.
  • Communicates with faculty to fill schedule for assigned courses.
  • Coordinates documentation and communication of program policies, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Provides administrative support relating to textbooks and course materials
  • Tracks and archives course syllabi
  • Provides technical assistance to students and faculty with Portfolium and other program-specific applications
  • Participates in meeting and events as required.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; commensurate professional experience may be substituted.
  • Experience in office, administrative, or customer service positions preferred, but not required.

  • Organized, detailed, process orientation.
  • Team orientation/collaboration, both as leader and follower.
  • Effective time management.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with various individuals.
  • Technology literacy in the use of databases, online learning platforms, email, shared files.
  • Learning agility/resourcefulness to find information/solve problems.
  • Effective writing skills

Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
