Overview and Responsibilities

Job Summary

 

 

Salary Range: $17-$18.75 per hour

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor the general graduate admission email account; label and delegate incoming emails and respond to and escalate more complex inquiries.
  • Complete all final admission application reviews and lead final processing steps to finalize student admission, also carrying out periodic quality checks to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Act as a first point of contact for admission counselors, and also for questions to, or requests of the admission processing team.
  • Monitor transcript services—incoming transcripts and third-party orders—and delegate document processing to Admission Student Workers.
  • Act as a first point of contact for more complex transcript questions and special cases requiring elevated system access.
  • Create Admission Student Worker schedules; monitor student worker availability, time off requests, and arrange shift coverage when needed.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Represent the Graduate Admission Office in university-wide meetings.
  • Provide support to student workers completing initial requirements check reviews and complete some reviews for specific application types.
  • Provide back-up to student workers processing and uploading hard copy and electronic transcripts and application documents to the CRM.
  • Provide back-up to student-workers placing third-party transcript orders.
  • Assist in monitoring students accepted as pre-admit or with other conditional statuses.
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Admission Operations with process improvement, CRM development, and student worker training opportunities where appropriate.
  • Assist at the front reception desk as needed.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a higher education setting is preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) is preferred.
  • Experience with a Student Information Systems is preferred.
  • May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.

  • A keen eye for details and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts throughout the university for smooth collaboration.

  • A self‐motivator who can identify priorities and take action where needed.


Physical Demands

  • Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
