Overview and Responsibilities

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is seeking applications for a Student Services Specialist on our Twin Cities campus. This position provides a high level of customer service to prospective and current students to guide them through Saint Mary’s processes and procedures. This role will assist and advise students as the first point of contact in the following areas: student portal access, tuition and billing, financial aid, and registration services

Hourly Wage: $18.75

Qualifications

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in higher education or student services is preferred

The selected candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

  • A demonstrated commitment to customer service and student success.
  • Excellent communication, listening, writing and editing skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate financial information into understandable language for students.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to work change.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people, work individually and within a team

 

Physical Demands

 

Sedentary work: Sedentary work involved lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defines as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
