Overview and Responsibilities

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota is seeking a Library Services Coordinator who is eager to contribute to its Lasallian Catholic mission of awakening, nurturing, and empowering learners to ethical lives of service and leadership. The Library Services Coordinator is responsible for providing circulation, interlibrary loan, and reference services to all areas of the Schools of Graduate and Professional Programs administered from the Minneapolis Campus Library. This position is full time, 40 hours per week.

 

  • Provides user-centered and efficient circulation and reference services.
  • Leads interlibrary loan operations and workflows for the Minneapolis Library including scanning and digitization requests.
  • Leads shelf maintenance and weeding projects including shelving and withdrawing materials.
  • Manages library collections, as well as course reserves.
  • Runs reports and compiles statistics for circulation and collections
  • Stays current on procedures related to responsibilities.
  • Processes library donations.
  • Repairs damaged materials.
  • Takes inventory of supplies.
  • Updates library signage and voicemail.
  • Serves on Content & Collections Team.
  • Performs other projects and duties, as assigned.

  • Handle multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Develop effective working relationships with diverse groups of people.
  • Use basic computer software, such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Lift 20 lbs. and shelve library materials.
  • Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Support, respect, and advance the mission of Saint Mary’s University as a Lasallian Catholic university.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate’s degree is required.
  • Experience with electronic library resources required.
  • May consider other acceptable equivalent combinations of training and experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience assisting users with library databases, reference, and circulation inquiries in an academic library.
  • Experience with Alma ILS preferred. Experience using interlibrary loan systems such as OCLC and Alma ILL preferred.
