Overview and Responsibilities

The Coordinator for the Center for Business Analytics plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Center. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the Center's activities, providing administrative support, and assisting in various research and analytics projects. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for data-driven decision-making. The Coordinator will work with the Grants Manager and Writing Coordinator on University wide reporting on state and federal grants.  They will also advance activities related to researching, identifying, and assessing potential grant opportunities that align with the Center for Business Analytics.   

  • Student Activities: 
    • Oversee industry guest speakers, business intelligence case competitions, prompting student research practicum and workshops for our First Generation Initiative (FGI) students
    • Work with GeoSpecial Services and Career Services to connect students to internship opportunities.   
  • Industry and Faculty Activities: 
    • Administer an annual study of the data analysis and technology needs of  regional industry.
    • Support annual virtual business intelligence summit, industry workshops and virtual roundtables with industry and faculty. 
  • Administrative Support:
    • Manage the Center's calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate events.
    • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and other relevant documents.
    • Handle inquiries and requests from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data Management:
    • Assist in data collection, validation, and organization for research projects.
    • Maintain and update databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
    • Generate reports and summaries based on collected data.
  • Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between the Center and other departments or partners.
    • Prepare and distribute communications materials such as newsletters or updates.
    • Maintain the Center's online presence, including social media accounts and the website.
  • Resource Management:
    • Track and manage the Center's budget and expenses.
    • Assist in procurement and inventory management for necessary resources.
    • Ensure compliance with financial and administrative policies.
  • Grant Reporting
    • Work with the Grants Management and Writing Coordinator, the Business Office and Institutional Effectiveness to calendar reporting needs for state and federal grants across the University 
    • Assist in assembling data required for state and federal grant reports 
  • Opportunity Assessment and Report:
    • Evaluate the suitability of identified grants by reviewing their guidelines, requirements, and priorities.
    • Collaborate with program managers and stakeholders to determine which grants best support the organization's strategic objectives.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Communication or a related field.

 

  • Ability to communicate and interact successfully with a diverse community of faculty, students staff, and external audience.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills, attention to detail and follow-through, and excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to travel between campus locations.
  • Occasional off-hour and weekend support for special events.
